About these terms
These terms cover your use of chatta.co.za and the early-access list. Chatta isn’t open for business yet, so there are no accounts or payments. Full service terms will be published before accounts open, and you’ll be asked to accept them then.
Chatta is run by its founder in South Africa and is not yet a registered company. TODO: replace with the registered company’s details.
Examples on this site
The businesses, people, conversations and prices shown on this site, including in the demo, are illustrative examples. They are not real customers or results.
The demo runs on simple rules in your browser to show how Chatta behaves. It isn’t the real assistant, and replies in isiZulu, isiXhosa and Afrikaans are awaiting review by native speakers.
Prices
The plans and prices on this site are proposals for early access and may change before launch. Nothing is charged until you sign up for a plan and accept the service terms. Chatta isn’t registered for VAT, so prices don’t include VAT for now.
The early-access list
Joining the list is free and doesn’t commit you to anything. We’ll use your email only to tell you about Chatta’s launch, as described in our privacy policy. You can leave the list at any time.
What the service terms will cover
So you know what to expect, the service terms will include:
- a 14-day free trial with 25 conversations, and no card needed to start;
- monthly plans you can cancel any time, and yearly plans paid upfront;
- conversation limits per plan, with optional top-ups you choose, so there are no surprise bills;
- your responsibility for the prices and information you give Chatta, and for following WhatsApp’s business rules;
- the assistant answering only about your business, and always offering your customers a person;
- Meta, not Chatta, approving WhatsApp numbers, which can take 1 to 3 business days;
- exporting or deleting your data at any time.
We don’t promise uptime or response times. TODO: limitation of liability and dispute terms, after legal review.

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break it, overload it or the early-access form, or to collect other people’s information. The Chatta name, logo and site design belong to Chatta. Photos are used under the Unsplash licence and credited where they appear.
